how would you create a caring environment in your classroom?Assume that the cultural make up of your classroom includes at least five different ethnic and religious group?
make it clear from the start that you expect respect from everyone regarding the different cultures and religious beliefs... don't make it into a big deal your there to teach them whatever ignore the fact that they have different backgrounds and beliefs unless it encroaches on your teaching material and just teach!
another approach is to use the different ethnicities and beliefs in an unbiased way to illustrate and support your teaching topics and techniques that way the students will become more interested and you will have more interaction in class. they will feel more involved and are likely respond more.. it kind of gives you more scope to teach and the students will respond in a positive manner if they feel like their teacher goes the extra mile!
