Does make up cause under eye circles?

I have heard this due to the inhibition of the skin breathing - not sure whether it is true! Does make up cause under eye circles?

No, though it can clog your pores and make you break out. Under-eye circles are caused by sleep deprivation. And stress as well, I think.
