I went to a TV open house yesterday, and was told by a woman (cosmetologist?) that it takes her about 5 minutes to do make up for a man, but about 30 minutes for a woman. I did not have time to ask why?
Do you know why women takes longer time? Why women take longer time to do make-up than men on TV?
Where you want a woman looking like she's wearing makeup, its reversed for a man. They want everything natural. They probably apply a concealer for any zits - if its a teenager - (1/2 minutes), foundation (3ish minutes), possibly a highlighter, which is basically a light-colored, shiny cream you just rub into certain areas of your face which you want illuminated, like the corners of your eyes, brow bones, etc - 1/2 minutes. Maybe curl their lashes - 10 seconds.
Women, on the other hand...
Concealer. Foundation. Eye shadow. Eyeliner - pencil then liquid, for definition. Curl lashes. Mascara. Brow gel - to keep them in place. Blush and/or bronzer. Highlighter. Lip liner. Lip gloss / balm. and the list goes on..
You musty have visited a low-budget TV place, though, local - not NBC, ABC, FOX, I'm assuming. It would take guys a LOTT longer to get makeup done there, unless you're talking about a news station or something. They'd need brow gel, lip balm, and I'm sure professional makeup artists have come up with special man-makeup especially for actors. Why women take longer time to do make-up than men on TV?
Well, men generally only wear light foundation or a dusting of powder for TV, not the full face like women. Women typically wear eyeshadow, foundation, powder, blush, sometimes contour, eyeliner, mascara (or false lashes), and lipcolor. So of course the women would take longer than men.
Well, men don't wear mascara, eye liner, blush (usually), eye shadow, lipstick....are u starting to understand? Men just need some cover up to dull the shine, disguise acne or scars- and that's about it. Much more simple for men....as usual :)
Women wear more makeup.
Men don't need to have eye shadow, mascara, lip products, and eyeliner applied. They mainly would just have some foundation or powder, and that's about it.
Men just get a foundation base %26amp; maybe light shadow on their eyes.
Women get foundation, eyeliner, eyeshadow, lashes, lipstick, blush.
